French Memories

The smell of warm croissants wafted across the little French market place, while I jostled with old French ladies to get a better look at the gorgeous French linens and vintage lace. I have overflowing boxes at home of scraps of antique fabric and silk scarves waiting to be transformed into something new. I wish I could wave my magic wand and magically produce all the beautiful cushions and throws I promised myself I would make. Instead I never seem to have the time but this doesn’t stop me from buying more. The faded linens and souvenir scarves are so hard to resist.

But today I have come in search of old trinkets and vintage charms. I love the anticipation of finding vintage treasures, as you just never know what you will go home with. I have a thing for pocket fobs at the mo and was over the moon when I stumbled across a box of vintage silver ones. They are set to be huge this coming winter, so get ahead of the fashion pack with one of my designs. I also found a lovely delicate lace butterfly and some gorgeous vintage crocheted lace.

There was the also the coolest old lady dressed in her finest fur coat browsing through antique gems, who I just had to take a picture of. I hope I will have one ounce of her confidence when I am old and grey!
All in all it was a very successful day, so look out for new designs soon to the Vintage Jewellery co.
